Ever since Reliance Jio entered the Indian mobile telecom market, Airtel, Vodafone and Idea have launched their Unlimited data packs and slashed the 3G/4G rates like never before. The mobile data rates have hit a competitive low and we have seen an epoch of unbelievable 4G offers to allure new customers. The 4G battle began in September 2016 when Reliance Jio was launched, offered free SIM cards and 4G LTE data at absolutely no cost. The free 4G offer took all it rivals by storm and gave a hard time to compete; till date. However, March 31st, 2017 being the last day for the free trial a lot of people talking(rather confused) about the Jio Prime plan and benefits involved. Airtel Rs. 345 recharge pack
Airtel has launched a recharge pack of Rs. 345 that provides customers with 28GB of data for a period of 28 days and comes with unlimited local and STD calls.
This is similar to the Rs. 303 Jio Prime offer, however, the FUP of 1GB/day is divided as 500MB data consumption during the day and the remaining 500MB data between 12 am and 6 am. Airtel users who want to continue with no day -night restriction on 1GB/day FUP have to choose the Rs. 549 plan.
Both Rs. 345 and Rs. 549 packs are available till 31st march and will be applicable for next 12 months.
Though both the packs come with unlimited STD and local calling, the Rs. 549 pack comes with some restrictions:
- 300 minutes of FREE calls per day.
- Only 1,200 minutes of free calls (local + STD) in a week.
- FREE calls made beyond the 1,200 bundled minutes in a week and 300 minutes per day will be charged at 30p per minute (for local and STD calls).
Vodafone Rs. 346 recharge pack
Vodafone has officially issued a statement regarding its plan. It says:
“Vodafone customers are diverse as are their wants. To satisfy these diverse needs and wants, Vodafone offers various segmented propositions. This is one such segmented offering and the offer is valid only untill 15 March”

Similar to others the proposed Rs. 346 plan will be a 28GB mobile data plan with unlimited free calling with a cap of 1GB per day.
Idea Rs. 348 recharge pack
To stay in the race Idea Cellular is offering 500MB data per day at Rs. 348.
14GB of monthly data along with Free unlimited calls. The offer, however, is available to limited users with low-data usage. The idea is to encourage users to use more 4G data at discounted price. Idea users can check their eligibility for this offer via the My Idea app or speak with customer care for the same.
Let’s Compare
Conclusion:
Most avid internet users are already taking advantage and hooked to Fastest Reliance Jio speeds. No more “FREE INTERNET” for Jio users would be disappointing but were they able to win a customer base? Reliance Jio had disappointed the majority of users in terms of the quality of the call(cracking) and inability to reach customers on other networks at first dial attempt; often several attempts.
Now that Airtel, Reliance Jio, Vodafone and Cellular all are offering high-speed 4G data at best lowest rates it would be interesting to see how many users would continue their subscription with Reliance Jio. Finally, it would all depend on individual’s preference.
Which is your favorite Mobile carrier? How was your experience with Reliance Jio network(if tried)? Feel free to leave a comment below.
